Cloncurry
Friendly heart of the North West
Cloncurry in is a hub point of the outback. Known as the ‘Heart of the Great North West’, Cloncurry sits on the junctions of the Matilda Highway and Overlander’s Way and is nestled on the banks of the Cloncurry River, so named by Burke as they travelled through the district.
The ‘Curry’, as it is affectionately known by locals, offers visitors the chance to explore and experience its rich history; the Royal Flying Doctor Service was founded here in 1928, whilst the original Qantas hanger is still in use at the aerodrome, it is a town that celebrates outback life the true Australian way.

John Flynn Place Museum & Art Gallery
