Family Fun Park  Tour

Mount Isa’s newest play and water park, perfect for the kids. Located on Church Street, entry is free, with toilets and free BBQ facilities. Open every day, except Wednesday, the park offers water play, climbing frames and flying foxes.

Hard Times Underground Mine Tour  Tour

The 3 hour Underground Mine Tour operates 7 days a week. Bookings are essential and can be made by calling Outback at Isa. All equipment is provided, including boots, however participants are asked to bring a pair of socks.

Underground Hospital   Heritage site

The Underground Hospital is a must see attraction for all visitors to Mount Isa. Built in 1942 following the bombing of Darwin, the Underground Hospital is one of a kind. The Underground Hospital is open from 10.00am to 2.00pm, 7 days.

Bureau of Meteorology Tours  Tour

Join in on a fascinating tour of the Mount Isa Bureau of Meteorology. Tours are conducted at 8.20am on Wednesdays, and bookings are essential. Call 4743 3382 to book, office hours are 6.00am – 3.00pm, Mon – Thur.

Campbells Surface Mine Tour  Tour

Surface Tours operate Monday to Saturday at 11.00am. The two hour bus tour takes in the Black Star Open Cut and the surface operation of the Xstrata Mount Isa Mines.

Lake Moondarra  Nature experience

Lake Moondarra is located on Lake Moondarra Road (off the Barkly Highway). Open from 7.00am – 10.00pm the lake is a great place for a picnic, swim or fishing. The lake is stocked with Barramundi and no permit is needed for fishing.

National Trust Tent House   Heritage site

The Tent House is a great example of early pioneering ingenuity a slice of Mount Isa history Located on Fourth Avenue, the entrance fee is a gold coin donation. See the Fourth Avenue Motor Inn for a key during office hours.

Riverleigh Fossil Centre  Museum

The Riversleigh Fossil centre is open 7 days, from 8:30am to 5:00pm. It is an interpretive museum based on the fossils found at the actual Riversleigh fossil fields.

School of the Air  Tour

Located in Abel Smith Parade, next to Spinifex Senior Campus, the Mount Isa School of Distance Education provides tours at 10.00am Monday to Friday during school terms. $2.50 per adult. No on air lessons on Fridays.
