"Friendly Outback Spirit"

Cloncurry is renowned for its ochre-red countryside and ‘friendly outback spirit.’ This mineral rich-town was the birthplace of the Royal Flying Doctor Service and home to the very first QANTAS Airlines hanger. The town annually hosts one of Australia’s greatest horse events, the Cloncurry Stockman’s Challenge and Campdraft along with the infamous Curry Merry Muster. You can also visit the abandoned Mary Kathleen ‘ghost town,’ and Mine Pit, full of the most astounding azure blue waters! While the water is not recommended for swimming, it sure makes for a fantastic photo opportunity!
